This policy outlines expectations for:
Students
Parents
Educators
Marketplace Teachers
in all TTN digital spaces.
2. Scope
Applies to all:
TTN students and families (except Australia)
TTN educators and contractors
Marketplace Teachers
TTN digital platforms and online learning tools
3. TTN Digital Safety Commitments
TTN ensures:

Only approved platforms are used for classes, communication, and resource sharing.
3.2 Protected Student Data
TTN follows:
COPPA requirements (for U.S. families)
U.S. privacy principles
International best practices
3.3 Cyber-Safe Digital Environments
Includes:
Monitored online sessions
Technology use guidelines
Clear consequences for misuse
4. Student Responsibilities
Students must:
Use technology respectfully
Keep cameras on unless approved otherwise
Use their real name (first name acceptable)
Follow teacher directions
Keep login details private
Use chat features appropriately
Avoid distracting behaviours (memes, gaming, unrelated screens)
Report unsafe behaviour
Students must never:
Share personal contact details
Access inappropriate content
Record or screenshot sessions
Use fake names or impersonate others
5. Parent Responsibilities
Parents/guardians must:
Supervise children during online learning
Maintain filtering, antivirus, and secure internet access
Provide a quiet and safe learning space
Ensure devices are used only for TTN-approved purposes during sessions
Report technical or safety concerns promptly
6. Educator Responsibilities
TTN educators must:
Maintain visible video presence
Comply with cyber safety training
Use only approved platforms
Report unsafe behaviour immediately
Avoid private messaging with students
Maintain professional boundaries
Marketplace Teachers must also comply with these expectations.
7. Device & Internet Requirements
Families must provide:
A functioning device
Stable internet connection
Working microphone & camera
Adequate lighting
A supervised learning environment
TTN is not responsible for:
Home internet outages
Device malfunction
Parent-controlled firewall or filter issues
8. Breakout Room & Online Interaction Protocols
TTN follows strict protocols:
No unsupervised educator–child breakout rooms
Breakout rooms must remain accessible to staff
All student communication must occur in approved channels
9. Prohibited Online Behaviour
Strictly prohibited:
Bullying or cyber harassment
Viewing or sharing inappropriate content
Bypassing security settings
Hacking or tampering
Recording or distributing session content
Sharing logins or passwords
Disruptive or unsafe behaviour
10. Cyber Safety Incident Response
If an online safety concern arises, TTN will:
Ensure immediate safety
Remove or mute disruptive individuals
Document the incident
Notify parents where appropriate
Report to authorities if required
Conduct TTN Executive Review
Apply consequences
11. Consequences for Cyber Safety Violations
Violations may lead to:
Temporary removal from class
Restricted platform access
Suspension
Permanent removal from TTN programs
Termination of Marketplace Teacher contracts
12. Review & Updates
